Induction & Orientation

Share:

Induction and Orientation activities often act as the first point of direct contact between you, the international student, and your chosen institution, and so play an important role in:

  • Welcoming you to the institution.
  • Ensuring that you are familiar with the facilities and services that are available to you in the higher education institutions.
  • Introducing you to the structures and procedures of the higher education institution.
  • Ensuring you know where to go for guidance and support during your time here in Ireland as an international student.

Generally orientation sessions are held at the start of the academic year. As well as sessions introducing students to college life and services, some institutions offer sessions on each individual course as well as Library and Sports Centre tours. You are recommended to attend orientation sessions as this information will help you adapt to life at the institution and ensure you enjoy and get the most out of it!
