  • Dublin Transport:
    • Dublin Bus: Extensive city bus network.

The Leap Card: Affordable Travel

The Leap Card is a prepaid travel card that makes getting around Ireland easier and more affordable. It’s accepted on most public transport services, including:

The Student Leap Card offers discounted fares for full-time students. It’s available to:

  • Full-time students in Irish colleges and universities
  • International students enrolled in full-time programmes

How to Apply

There are three ways to apply for a Student Leap Card:

  1. Online
    • Visit studentleapcard.ie
    • Upload your student ID and a passport-style photo
    • Pay the €10 fee
    • Collect your card at your college or have it posted to you
  2. On Campus
    • Many colleges have a Student Leap Card agent (usually in the Students’ Union)
    • Bring your student ID and proof of age
    • They’ll take your photo and issue your card on the spot or within a few days
  3. In Person
    • Use the Agent Locator to find your nearest approved agent
    • Bring your documents and payment

Top-Up and Manage Your Card

  • Add credit online, at ticket machines, or via the Leap Top-Up app
  • Buy Student Travel Passes for unlimited travel during term time

Pro Tip: Register your card online so you can block it and transfer your balance if it’s lost or stolen.
