Atlantic Technological University

Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is a public technological university located in the west and northwest of Ireland. It was officially established on 1st April 2022 through the merger of three institutes: Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny IT.  ATU provides a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across business, engineering, science, computing, creative arts, tourism, nursing, social care, furniture design, agriculture, and more.

Science & Engineering: ATU has a strong foundation in applied sciences and engineering, including advanced materials, sustainable manufacturing, and wireless embedded systems.

Heritage: Research in heritage studies, including cultural and historical preservation.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML): Research includes AI-driven decision-making, natural language processing, generative AI, AI ethics, and intelligent data analytics.

High-Performance Computing (HPC): Focus on scalable computing architectures, cloud and edge computing, large-scale data analysis, and AI model deployment.

Emerging Technologies: Blockchain, quantum computing, smart cities, IoT, Industry 4.0, and computer vision (image/video analysis, object detection, autonomous systems)
