Erasmus Programme at GCD

The Erasmus programme is the Higher Education section of the European Community Lifelong Learning Programme in the field of education. The programme is the EU's flagship education and training programme, emphasising student and staff mobility and co-operation of higher education institutions and other key players across Europe. It supports the creation of a European Higher Education Area through increased mobility - over 2 million students have participated since the programme start in 1987.

GCD offers an exciting range of opportunities for students to study abroad. GCD is a recognised institution in the LLP/ERASMUS programme and maintains links with many partner institutions across Europe. Under the programme GCD students can study in Europe as part of their degree.  You may spend either a semester or a year abroad depending on your course of study.  In return GCD receives students from our partner institutions to study in GCD.

Study Abroad at GCD

GCD also offers an exciting range of opportunities for fee-paying study abroad students for semester and year-long programmes at its historic campus in Dublin.  Typically, Study Abroad students take four to five modules during a semester when they study at Griffith college. However, Study Abroad students can take less than five modules per semester if they have the permission from their home university.  Modules are chosen from an extensive range available from GCD’s undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Griffith College has taken a number of steps to ensure that study abroad semester students coming here receive all the necessary attention and assistance they need. The International Office is responsible for the overall co-ordination of the many programmes we offer to students. We can assist with the various practical and personal matters which arise for any student settling into a new environment in an unfamiliar country. Customised English language programmes are also available during the summer term.
