The Institute of Technology, Tralee is at the forefront of innovative research, and collaborative links with industry are an integral and fundamental part of research undertaken at the Institute. IT Tralee students can do their work placement in any EEA country and receive an EU Erasmus work placement grant.
Foundation Courses at IT Tralee
The international foundation programme significantly improves students' academic knowledge, English language level and study skills to reach the required level to progress with their choice of undergraduate or postgraduate academic programme. Small classes combined with expert lecturers focused on helping the student to improve and progress make this programme a very attractive choice for students transitioning into the Irish education system, especially those who need to improve their English language ability. All students are prepared to help them to take an IELTS exam at the end of their year. The student is prepared across the four language disciplines of oral, listening, written and spoken to ensure they are equipped to succeed when they move onto their academic programme.

IT Tralee has developed a comprehensive Student Services programme to cater for the needs of a growing student population. The aim of these services is to provide the necessary support to enable you to pursue your academic programmes and career goals.
IT Tralee has developed a range of student support services to assist students with their academic development and with personal matters. In addition, while pursuing their academic goals students have an opportunity to participate in a wide and varied programme of sports and social events organised through over forty clubs and societies. The Institute has a Students' Union with a full-time President along with two Vice-Presidents, who are elected on an annual basis. The Student Services Office at IT Tralee and the Students' Union co-operate in the provision and development of student services.
