St. Angela’s College a College of the National University of Ireland (NUI), Galway is a provider of University level education and research in the North-West of Ireland. As a small College within the wider National University network students at St. Angela’s College are afforded a high quality of University education with small classes, state of the art resources and a strong community environment while given wider opportunities of being registered students of NUI Galway. St. Angela’s College, located on the shores of Lough Gill, Sligo enjoys one of the most scenic and tranquil locations imaginable. While the Campus is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and lies in the heart of the “Yeats Country” yet it is only a few minutes from Sligo, a vibrant and rapidly growing commercial centre providing students with a lively social, cultural and entertainment scene. In 1952, St. Angela’s College was founded as a College of Education for Home Economics Teachers and is now the sole provider of the Bachelor of Education in Home Economics in Ireland. In recent years the College has expanded its profile of academic programmes to include:Nursing & Health Studies, Education, Special Needs Education, Theology, Food & Consumer Studies, Irish, Science, Economics and Social Studies The provision of such a broad range of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes has lead to dramatic increase in student numbers both nationally and internationally.
