Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a good application?

Show us who you are! We want to get to know you, so bring your most authentic self when answering the questions. We want to know who you are, what makes you tick, what you're passionate about, and how Ireland fits into that.

Am I required to submit my official transcript?

You can submit either an official or unofficial version of your transcript, as long as it includes your coursework and grades from Fall 2020. The transcript must be uploaded as a pdf, jpg, or png file.

What should I do in my video?

Tell us your story. Be creative. You can answer the question by talking to us, by delivering us a spoken word piece, acting out a skit, or singing a song. You can use props, get your dog involved, or wear a funny hat. If you have to hide in the shower so you can film somewhere that's quiet, that's cool too. We just want to get a sense of who you are!

What are some good ideas for encouraging others to study abroad?

The best ideas are the ones that are realistic and actionable, but still creative. Think about what you're involved in on your campus or in your community and tie that in. Think about what you've learned living and learning in the virtual space this year, and how that could factor in. Think about how you can use your skills and passions. Ultimately, our goal is that you share your experiences abroad so more students will consider this opportunity for themselves!

What is the amount of the scholarships?

The scholarships will be awarded in the amount of €3000.

What if I don't have a study abroad advisor?

Many colleges and universities have at least one staff member who is responsible for overseeing study abroad on that campus. If you're not sure who that person is, ask your academic advisor. If your campus does not have a study abroad advisor, and the person you're working with is someone in the Registrar's Office, the Financial Aid office, or another campus office, you can submit their contact information instead. We will use their information to verify your eligibility to study abroad during the Fall 2021 term.
